Free up storage space on Mac

Learn what to do if your Mac startup disk is almost full, or you don't have enough storage space to download, install, or copy.

Step 1: Open Terminal

Press Command (⌘) + Space → type Terminal and hit Return

Step 2: Run the Command

Paste the command into the Terminal window and press Return

What this command does:

Finds and removes temporary system files

Cleans app caches and outdated logs

Frees up space without touching personal data
